Active Power Board Member Dick Anderson Resigns

Active Power, Inc. (Active Power), a US-based manufacturer of power solutions incorporating uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, has announced the resignation of Dick Anderson from its board of directors, effective May 13, 2009, for personal reasons. Anderson was elected as a board member in July 1997 and also served as a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance and Compensation committees.

“We especially want to thank Dick for his many years of service and guidance to the company,” said Jim Clishem, president and chief executive officer, Active Power. “He has been a wonderful source of information, common sense and motivation to our board of directors and management team. For these reasons and many others, we thank Dick for his involvement as a key contributor to Active Power.”

Siemens Water Technologies is launching a new compact oil/water separation unit to the offshore oil and gas industry. The new Vorsep system incorporates several unique methods for removing oil from produced and wastewater streams before they are discharged, reused or injected. The unit reduces inventoried water in the system and is therefore compact and lightweight, ideally suited to offshore applications where footprint and weight are critical.

Siemens Receives Follow-Up Order for Power Plant Components from India

Siemens Energy has received an order from its Indian licensee Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for the supply of key components for a 1,600MW coal-fired power plant in India. Delivery of the components is scheduled for late 2011. The order volume amounts to more than EUR80 million.
